The club just competed at the BC AAA Champs which is the fastest provincial meet in the province.   Here are the results in reverse alphabetical order.

BC AAA Championships Results

 

Thomas Yeo

-          4 of 6 best times

-          New AAA standard in 200 breaststroke

-          New AA standard in 200 free, 400 IM

-          Improved ranking in 5 of 6 events

-          First AAA level meet

 

Patrick Walkowski

-          4 of 6 best times

-          First time under one minute for 100 Free

-          Most improved ranking was 100 free by 7 positions

 

Dane Simmons

-          7 of 8 best times

-          New Age-Group National qualifying time in 1500 free for 14 yo and 15 yo

-          Swam a new unofficial AAA standard in 400 free during 1500 free

-          New club records in 1500 free, 100 back, 50 free, 200 Fly, 100 Fly, 100 Free,

-          Improved rankings in 6 events

-          Most improved ranking was by 9 positions in the 1500 free

-          Two top ten rankings (as a second alternate in 100 back and 100 free), eleventh in 50 free

-          Within immediate reach of 400IM, 400 Free and 800 free club records

 

Reeghan Osmond

-          4 of 5 best times

-          New Western National Championship time in 200 Free

-          Swam 50 free in finals, placed 8th

-          Was entered in 50 free as a non-qualified (ie non-AAA) swim ranked 19th with 29.22

-          Improved 50 free time by 0.72 seconds during heats and improved her rankings to 6th with a time of 28.50

-          Only finals swim for HSSC at the meet, scored 11 points

-          New club record 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 free

-          New AAA’s in 50 free, 100 fly

-          Improved 5 of 5 rankings (most improved were 50 free 19th to 6th; 200 free 18th to 9th; 200 fly 15th to 11th)

 

Kaelen Osmond

-          6 of 6 best times

-          New AAA time standards in 1500 free, 400IM, 400 Free

-          Improved 6 of 6 rankings (most improved were 1500 free 17th to 12th; 200 free 21st to 14th)

-          Best swim was 1500 Free, improved by 1min, 13s which is an improvement of 5 seconds per 100

-          Closing in on 13yo Age-Group National QT for 1500 free by 26s (needs 2 more seconds per 100)

-          Closing in on 14yo Age-Group National QT for 1500 free by 44s (needs 3 more seconds per 100)

-          Swam best time for 400 free during 1500 free, and faster again for 400 free race

  

Jordan Morford

-          5 of 6 best times

-          Improved 5 of 6 rankings (most improved was 200 IM 33rd to 26th)

-          Best swims were 100 back (first time under 1:10) and 400 free (first time under 5:00)

-          Only 2.2 seconds away from 14yo Age-Group Nationals time in 100 back

-          Only 3.9 seconds away from 15yo Age-Group Nationals time in 100 back

 

Emily Halajian

-          2 of 5 best times

-          Best swims were 200 Fly (improved 7.70s), 400 free (improved 2.48s)

-          First AAA level meet

 

Overall Results

-          32 of 42 best times

-          76% best times (meet average was 50%)

-          Improved rankings in 32 of 42 swims (also 76%)

-          1 new Age-Group National Qualifier

-          1 new Western Champs Qualifier

-          6 new AAA Provincial Standards

-          2 new AA Provincial Standards

-          8 new club records

 

We actually had a lot of heat winners, probably around 33%.  Winning a heat is a reflection of how much more improved you are over seven other swimmers of the same swim time.
